First Steps

Patrick took his first real steps today! He had taken the occasional step or two without realizing what he was doing, but this was the first time he seemed to have control over them. He was standing holding onto a bar stool, let go, stood there for a moment, then took four careful steps into Mommy's arms.

Mystery Solved

Patrick's unexplained moodiness and sleep troubles have been explained. His top teeth made an appearance this morning.

Roly Poly

He had managed to turn over a couple of times earlier in the day when Mama's back was turned, but Patrick finally mastered the back-to-front flip under Auntie B's expert instruction. Of course he's still working on front-to-back...

First Bites

After a lick of homemade vanilla bean ice cream yesterday, Patrick had his first taste of rice cereal today. Not the recommended order, but he is his father's boy.

He proved to be more than ready for solids. He gobbled up spoonful after spoonful, and even sipped from the dish!

Movin' Out

Patrick has been sleeping in our room, in his wonderful cradle. But he's getting too big, and we decided it was time to move him into his own room. Naptime didn't go so well, but he is almost two hours into his first night in the crib. So far, so good...

No pictures of Michael's birthday celebration, because he's working tonight. But we'll celebrate with his parents this weekend.

Sleeping Like a Baby

Michael was out of town for a conference, so Patrick took pity on his Mama. He slept straight through from 11 to 6am!

Growing Up

Our baby is growing up. His cord stump fell off today!
