Dave and Ivy got married in a beautiful setting -- under a majestic oak dripping with Spanish moss. A lovely reception followed, but Patrick was ready for bed...

We spent the day wandering the gardens and meeting the animals at Middleton Place.

Pit Stop

Patrick did great on his first plane ride, but the 3-hour drive from Charlotte to Charleston was another story. He screamed most of the way, resulting in frequent stops to try to calm him down. Hence the visit to a railroad museum -- Grampy will be so proud...

Three Months

March has been a great month. Patrick has grown more and more interactive, and we've been getting out of the house quite a bit. We've been going for long walks to the library or coffee shop on warm days, hanging out with some other moms and babies we met through prenatal yoga, and attending a Wigglers music class at Cartwheels for Kids.

Patrick is very strong on his legs, but hasn't really figured out what to do with his hands. Napping is still hit or miss, but he has been sleeping 7ish to 7ish with usually one quick feeding during the night. He gets cranky when overtired, but is so much fun when he's in a good mood. He loves to dance, laugh, stand on our laps, and play airplane.

It just keeps getting better and better!

Patrick has been sleeping in our room, in his wonderful cradle. But he's getting too big, and we decided it was time to move him into his own room. Naptime didn't go so well, but he is almost two hours into his first night in the crib. So far, so good...

No pictures of Michael's birthday celebration, because he's working tonight. But we'll celebrate with his parents this weekend.

Saint Patrick

A foot-and-a-half of snow overnight, but we wouldn't dream of cancelling our first annual St. Patrick's Day party. Michael plowed the front lawn for parking, and spray-painted the house number into a snowbank. The weather kept some folks away, but we had a great mix of people, and everyone had a wonderful time...

Today instead of napping, Patrick danced and kicked, wiggled and giggled. He burst through his tightly-wrapped swaddle. Love those thighs!

Blue Pizza

The Lorans were in town from Boulder, Colorado. Michael and Alex made lunch for everyone -- first a green pizza, then a red pizza. Then Alex wanted a blue pizza. It tasted pretty good, although our tongues turned smurf-blue...
