Pearly Whites

Patrick cut his first teeth this morning -- the bottom two are just starting to come in. Pictures once they become more visible...

Seven Months

Patrick has always been a wonderful baby, but in the past month he has become even more fun. He's smiley and interactive, charming everyone he meets.

Sleep might have something to do with it. He usually sleeps through the night now, from 7-ish to 6 or 7. The biggest change is his napping. He now takes two long (1-2+ hour) naps in his crib each day. Lets him (and his Mama) recharge.

Eating is another story. He's still a great nurser, but has little interest in solids except to play. He thinks it's great fun to blow food-filled raspberries all over whoever's feeding him. We might have better luck once he's coordinated enough to feed himself, as he's always grabbing for the bowl and spoon.

He's been strong on his hands and knees for a while now, but is just starting to make some forward progress. He does the "inchworm" -- on hands and knees, lunges forward, down on his belly, then up again. This gets him moving pretty quickly from one side of the room to the other if there's a ball or his stuffed pig (or a shiny, crinkly bag of potato chips) to attract him.

Patrick also enjoys playing with blocks, chewing his lobster, bouncing around at cardio class, splashing in the sink, and sucking his thumb or toes.

Moose!

After an unsuccessful moose hunting day yesterday, we were determined to spot one on our way to the airport. This guy was waiting for us by the side of the road.

We are happy to report that Patrick was a perfect little traveler. He endured five flights with nary a whimper, and adjusted well to the time change, erratic napping, and several late nights. Rather than cramping our style, he just made everything more fun...

Grand Teton National Park

We spent the day exploring the park. Lots of detours with majestic mountain views, but no wildlife to be found...

The Wedding

The wedding was spectacular -- what a setting! A tent in the middle of a sagebrush field, the dramatic backdrop, and even a bison grazing nearby to complete the picture.

Bugs and Bears

We started the day with a wonderful hike in the park to Phelps Lake overlook. On the way back to the hotel, we stopped to watch a mother bear and her two cubs ramble through the forest. We were smart enough to stay in the car this time...

Jackson Hole, Wyoming

We spent the morning exploring Jackson. Breakfast at The Bunnery, ice cream at Moo's (in the back of a hat shop!), and lots of strolling in between. Back to the hotel for a dip in the pool (Patrick's first), then off to the Museum of Wildlife Art for Will & Suzy's rehearsal dinner.

Dinner in Denver

We missed our connecting flight in Denver, and had several hours until the next one. It worked out extremely well -- Carol and Alex were able to meet us at the airport for a spontaneous visit! It was wonderful (and messy) to get the cousins together, although Patrick was a bit of a bully...

Happy Birthday Sophie!

Patrick and all of his frogs hope you had a great party at the frog pond yesterday. Sorry we missed it -- we'll make a belated birthday visit soon!

Robin's back to work this week, on her first project in over six months. Patrick and his Daddy have been having a lot of fun together in the meantime...
