Relaxing in Jackson Hole

The second leg of our vacation was a return trip to Teton Village, Wyoming for Tracey and Kevin's wedding. We stayed at the Teton Club in two 3-bedroom condos with Robin's friends from high school.

Eight Months

Lots going on this month as Patrick is growing and changing every day. He's become very mobile, eager to explore his world. He got so proficient at his inchworming that we thought he wouldn't bother crawling. But he figured it out in Steamboat, and hasn't looked back. He loves to grab power cords, empty out the baskets that hold his pajamas, and pull himself up on anything he can find.

Sleeping continues to go well (at least when not traveling), and we've overcome the eating hurdle by serving soft chunks that he can feed himself. He loves tofu, avocado, Cheerios, and fruit. Just about anything that's firm enough to grasp, yet soft enough that we don't worry about him choking.

Patrick hasn't yet mastered clapping or waving, but his smile lights up the room when someone walks in. He loves to say "Buh" and "MuhMuhMuh" when he's not silently surveying his surroundings. We've started signing with him sporadically -- "more," "milk," "ball," and "eat." It'll be so much fun when he's able to communicate back.

Leaving Steamboat

We savored our last morning together, then drove to Denver to hop a plane to Jackson. We stopped in Boulder to see the Lorans along the way...

Up and Away

After two unsuccessful mornings, it was finally clear enough for a balloon ride. Barbara and Robin stayed home with the boys.

Crawling Along

Patrick progressed from inchworming to actual crawling under his cousin's watchful eye. Luckily there were plenty of distractions so he never got very far...

Family Gathering

After much delay, I have finally found the time to sort through pictures and post favorites from our recent travels. So many to choose from!

Our first leg was a trip to Steamboat Springs, Colorado with the Daileys. We rented a spacious townhouse and spent most of the time just hanging out with the boys. So wonderful to get them (and everyone) together...

Standing Tall

Patrick pulled himself up to standing in his crib when he was supposed to be napping, and got stuck. We thought (hoped) it was a fluke when he did this a couple of days ago, but I guess not...

Learning to Share

We've just about given up trying to feed Patrick baby food, as he clamps his mouth shut every time. Instead, he loves attempting to feed himself rice cakes, Cheerios, egg yolks, and fruit. Llama is very happy about this development...

Circus Smirkus

As Smirkus groupies, we drove to Kennebunkport to watch our friend Taylor ride his unicycle in the show. We saw him last year in Freeport, and earlier this year in Saratoga.

Summer Visit

Patrick was happy to see Auntie Barbara and Gran-D, up for a quick visit. Auntie B plied him with Cheerios and made him laugh, while Gran-D enjoyed some quality floor time...
